The first thing you want to do is find someone you can trust with your fur baby, and in your home if that is where they will be staying.  Speak with everyone you know that has, or loves, fur babies ~ your neighbors, vet, groomer, friends and family.

Once you start speaking with a potential sitter, find out how they ‘pet sit’ ~ do they watch pets in their home, do they come to your home daily, will they sleep in your home, etc. You want to be sure what they  do will match up with your needs.    In addition, ask them for references. If the references check out, have them come to your home and interview them. Having them in your home also allows you to see how they interact with your fur baby and most importantly how your fur baby reacts to them.

Be sure to find out up front what they charge so there are no unpleasant surprises.
